The engine was bought in 1897 by the GGB for construction works. After finishing the line the engine was used a few years as an electric power independent reserve. In 1920 it was sold to the Ferrocarrils du Montserrat (FMGP) in Spain. In 1998 the HG 3/3 has been showed for the 100 year anniversary nearby Zermatt station.
